Executive Chef Rita and Rafih Benjelloun

Executive Chef Rita Benjelloun has over 20 years in the hospitality industry and a passion for sharing the flavors and traditions of her heritage, Executive Chef Rita Benjelloun takes the lead in Ibiza's kitchen. Though born in Morocco, Rita lived in Sevilla, Spain, for 10 years and as a result, this experience had a great influence on her life. Her roots are further embedded in Spanish society as Rita's mother is native of Sevilla and consequently sent Rita to a traditional Spanish school for seven years to learn essential life skills.

Rita uses subtle herbs and bold spices in her menu at Ibiza which reflect her deep admiration for Mediterranean cuisine. After studying culinary arts in Western Europe, Rita married Rafih Benjelloun and together the couple opened a restaurant in Vail, Colo. Later, they moved to Atlanta in 1991 and opened the internationally acclaimed Moroccan restaurant, Imperial Fez, located beside Ibiza.

Rita is an active members of Les Toques Blanches, the Brotherhood of International Chefs. In addition, she and her husband place a very high priority on contributing to the community on a local, national, and international level. They are active participants and contributors to Operation Smile, Share Our Strength, The Atlanta Community Food Bank, African Childrens' Fund and Hosea Feed the Hungry & Homeless to name a few
